Blood Transfusion Procedures- UAE DONORS

Blood Transfusion is a process of extracting the blood from one person and injecting it to another person. The major reasons for blood transfusion, including

1.     To recover the blood lost during the surgery period, or some severe accident.
2. For the treatment of anaemia, haemophilia and blood lost during childbirth.

A blood transfusion can make up for a loss of blood. Mostly, Red blood cells are transfused because it is used to increase the blood’s ability to carry the oxygen throughout the body.

Preparing for a Blood Transfusion
In some case a patient needs blood transfusion, first to confirm the patient’s blood type, a sample of blood is withdrawn from the patient’s vein and sample blood is sent to the blood bank/ lab for checking the blood type. After receiving the blood type of the patient and a suitable donor is chosen, intermixing of the patient’s blood with the sample of donor’s blood to confirm they are suitable.

Blood Transfusion Procedure

A needle is inserted into the arm or hand, a tiny tube is attached with the needle which connects the bag containing the blood. During a blood transfusion, the blood flows from the blood bag, into the tube and through the needle which is injected into the patient's body. The whole process takes 1-4 hours, depends on the requirement of blood.
